Sam & Carl @ Apton Hall

The Start of the Stacey’s Weddings!
Well, the first one of two, and Stacey’s as in the auctioneers that I used to work at. I first met Carl at… well either a Christmas do or one of the go karting sessions. Certainly he first met Dave at one of the go karting sessions – we used to go to a track near our old house in Rayleigh, so it’d be rude not to invite Dave (especially as he ended up racing for me because it made me travel sick (yes, what!?)
Anyway, this is a wedding blog, not my life history!
Sam & Carl chose the rather lovely Apton Hall, literally 15 minutes from my house (now house in Hockley, not old house in Rayleigh! Let’s not start a whole new blog about temporary traffic lights and pot holes…)
Carl also let me know of a few surprises he had in store, like his Flower Boys (Men), Stormtrooper and Carl’s own entrance to Adam & The Ants – Prince Charming. I had Dave with me on the day as second shooter / bubble gun holder / drinks fetcher / bag carrier. He’s a massive Star Wars fan (can be seen most days in one of his many subtle Star Wars t-shirts). I decided not to tell him about my new friend Stormy (pretty sure that’s not his name) so when the Stormtrooper arrived Dave had a good ol’ giggle too. As did the guests when they saw him for the first time walking down the aisle. One of my favourite photos (possibly ever) if Stormy holding Sam’s flowers. It’s a shot serious photographers do with the Bride, looking down at her flowers, all flowing and lovely, but I think I prefer it with a Stormtrooper. Actually everything is better with a Stormtrooper (unless you’re part of the Resistance I suppose).
OK I’ve written too much, scroll down for:
– lush Autumn details and colours
– Apton looking it’s finest (even though it rained in the morning)
– Star Wars themed cake
– surprise George Michael (pressie for Carl from his cousins)
– bubbles (Dave got hold of the bubble gun and wouldn’t give it up)
– and, of course, I had to get my light sabre light thingy out for a night time picture!
