Francesca & Barry are a pretty awesome couple, very chilled out – based on that, we got on pretty well! Our pre-wedding chat (the one month before meet-up, where we chat about the wedding and make a vague plan on how we’re going to photograph things) – this meeting I’d decided to set on a Sunday evening after two days of weddings and a wedding fair. I collapsed on their sofa and barely moved ha!
I wasn’t originally going to see Francesca in the morning, but we decided to in the end – just to kinda introduce myself to the family and Bridesmaids, grab a couple of shots and photograph some details. (Shoes in the parents grapevine!)
After leaving slighty ahead of everyone we parked up at Langton’s – which is where I would leave my car late into the evening. Francesca and parents arrived in a gorgeous pea green VW Campervan. After the ceremony in the Grand Hall (complete with William Morris wallpaper – I’ve only just noticed!) we headed outside to Langton’s grounds and lake for a few formals and some couple portraits.
[Random note – I recognised some guests at one of the others weddings there – the Groom was my ex-boyfriends cousin! It’s ok – it wasn’t massively awkward – I went and said hello!]
Pictures and awkward meet-up with the ex over with. All the guests and I jumped on two double decker red buses and headed into London. Just in the nick of time too, it absolutely hammered it down whilst we were on those buses, but sun was shining as soon as we were in London – weird!
The Pepys Bar is pretty awesome inside, with all those funky lights, pictures and grungy bare brick walls – very industrial but warming at the same time. I loved it! And probably took waaayyyy too many pictures of the interior and the ambience (only a select few below haha).
The Bride & Groom and their guests mingled, chatted, drank and ate popcorn (out of bowls made by Francesca from old LPs) until it was time for the buffet. No table plan for this relaxed wedding – grab some food, sit-down and eat. Come back for seconds ;)
Not long after the speeches we headed to cut the Pork Pie cake then on to First Dance. Which I think was Pete Doherty – For Lovers If it’s not then I’m going mad but either way this song reminds me of F & B now!
[Edit, first dance was actually Lily Allen – Shelter You, second song was For Lovers! I was close!]
After we left I headed over the Millennium walkway bridge to grab a shot of The Pepys building, complete with guests on the balcony and a few geese in the Thames (really tiny in the picture – I didn’t notice until I was going through the files for their album!)
Francesca & Barry had an awesome wedding, I loved every minute of it and I’d love to photograph it again!
