Finally! A ‘spare’ five minutes to catch up! Today’s blog is Ciara & Josh’s wedding at the Westcliff Hotel in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Looking forward to this one as it’s quite local to me, I used to live in Westcliff, and walk to work in Southend on the roads behind the hotel – so nice to be somewhere near home.
The Westcliff Hotel was built in 1891 – when the Victorians made Southend a popular holiday destination. It sits high on the cliff and has stunning views over the Thames Estuary and the Cliff Gardens.
Ciara, her Bridesmaids and daughter Rosie got ready in the newly refurbished and roomy Bridal suite – I think it was originally two rooms – so now it’s much bigger and better, especially for Bride’s and their dresses! Make up was by Blush by Hannah.
The ceremony was held in the Savoy suite of the hotel, then after some group shots on the hotel steps we took the Bridal party onto Cliff Gardens just opposite the hotel. After the wedding breakfast Sandbaggers DJ kept the crowds entertained with his balloon modelling before keeping the party going until the late hours.
